Ever heard of "Nice Nasty"?

For months, shy drummer Jinx Hardwick has been silently crushing on her tall, dark, and scary bandmate, Toombs Badcock. Drawn to his frightening ink and scars, she yearns to uncover the shadowy secrets lurking behind his silver eyes, but Jinx is too intimidated to even look at him, let alone talk to him. When she stumbles upon Toombs and their manipulative lead guitarist Rax in a compromising position, Jinx realizes her chances of winning Toombs’s heart aren’t just a long shot—they’re nonexistent.

To make matters worse, Jinx’s family needs her at home. She’s about to back away from it all—Toombs, the band, her dreams of fame and fortune—when Rax makes her an offer she can’t refuse: a no-holds-barred night alone with Toombs. There’s one small catch. She has to go through Rax to get it. (Goodreads)

Beats came with another most hilarious warning attached to it, just like Strings did.

WARNING: BEATS is specially formulated for horn dogs, porn oglers, smut peddlers, BDSM junkies, M/M and M/M/F addicts, DP dabblers, and lovers of A2M backdoor sexy times. If you don’t fall into these categories, can’t stomach hot man-on-man action, or if you have no idea what the above acronyms mean, please back away from BEATS now. This isn’t the book you’re looking for. Failure to heed this warning could inadvertently throw unauthorized users into a persistent vegetative state, or at the very least, require administration of a defibrillator to the chest and/or groin area. Nobody wants that.

"Backdoor sexy times"??? LMFAO!

Another unholy addition to the Hard Rock Harlots series. Honestly, I can't believe I like this smut. I love sex in my novels, but this shit??? This is beyond sex, beyond erotica. It's just...dirty.

I didn't like the plot line as much in this book. It was totally focused on Jinx pining after Toombs and it got old pretty fast. Part of the reason I enjoyed Strings was because of the music. In Beats, Jinx is kind of "blocked" making it impossible for her to create music. I think the author used this as a way to avoid exploring the music more. If the main character can't play, there is no music, right?

Jinx was a bit annoying. Totally different from the way Letty is annoying, lol. What Letty lacks emotionally, Jinx makes up for by being a whiney little baby all of the time. Whoever heard of a shy, moralistic drummer in a rock band called Killer Buzz Float? Get the fuck outta here! And anyone who can do the things Jinx does in this book, has no morals. Believe it, lol. But I still liked Jinx, really I did. I just wished she wasn't so damn whiney!

I always liked dark, tatted and silent Toombs. But once he opened up and we got to know him, I really just wanted him to be quiet again. He wasn't an idiot or anything, but you can't be dark, silent and sexy, when you're talking and all full of life. Yes, I'm impossible. But seriously, Toombs made a much bigger impact on me when he wasn't saying anything and just stared at Jinx all the time.

Rax...Oh, Rax. Well, let's just say that he is a lowdown SOB, but I love him! We really get to explore his and Toombs relationship in this book, and DUDE! It's like DEEEEEPPPPP!!! Like DEEP....Yup, what you're thinking is exactly what I mean :) I can't wait for the next book, Nocturnes, so we can see what happens with Rax because the ending of this one is like WOAH! I don't know how my boy is gonna bounce back from this one.

Overall, this book is worth the read if you enjoyed Strings. If you didn't, don't even bother. Beats is not any more "smut-less" than Strings, so your expectations should not be so. But you will have a good laugh at this one and get all hot and sticky from the sex scenes. They are...something. That's what I will tell you!
