Top Ten Resolutions for 2014

Buffer

So 2014 is gonna be better than 2013 because I'm gonna...

(Beware...not all of these are bookish...)

#10
Stop buying so many damn books.
Yeah, right. I'll stop buying food before I'll stop buying books.

#9
Read more Mystery/Suspense novels.
I honestly have not read a single book in this genre all the way through. I think it's time to bite the bookmark and do it.

#8
Fold my clothes right out of the dryer.
If you knew the struggle, you would not be laughing right now.

#7
Get a new hobby.
Juggling maybe, or ice sculpting. Or maybe shooting people! I mean, laser tag.

#6
Get promoted or get rich.
In 2013, I was promoted at my day job. I expect that to happen again in 2014. If not, I'll settle for a hefty lottery win. Preferably, the lottery win.

#5
Travel
Besides going home to Georgia every few months, I don't really travel. I have a ski vacay planned for November for my birthday, but I'd really like to go a few other places as well. Like NYC (May for BEA) and Las Vegas! (We're keepin' it stateside until my inevitable lottery win.)

#4
Get out of the house more.
I live at home. Hmmm...what I mean to say is, I don't get out much. I live in Washington DC and there's so much to do here. I really need to drag my overworked ass out and do some of it.

#3
Fall in Love
Does this need an explanation?

#2
Take better care of myself.
This includes sleeping more, eating right, exercising, and just enjoying life! (Really gotta cut back on those french fries though)

#1
Write my ass off!
I'm planning on releasing at least four books this year (three for sure, one a surprise). I know I have the skills to make it happen, just gotta locate my stash of get 'er done juice first.

  1. I would also like to buy less books, but I fear that's not gonna happen ;-) I hope you achieve your goals.

  3. At #8 I said, "^^This^^" b/c I struggle with that, too and at #1 I fainted dead away :-) Four books in one year? OMG - I can't even imagine! I'm lucky if I do one every two years :-) I hope you have a fabulous 2014 and reach every single one of your goals!!

    1. Thank you! Yes, I DESPISE folding clothes so it's always a chore for me. I'd rather they just lived in piles lol. And four books is quite ambitious, I know! Sometimes I wonder if I'm sane at all! :)

    2. I often fold the clothes and put them in a basket to take upstairs and then don't take them up right away and the husband comes along and paws through the basket, basically messing everything up and then I'm like "And I'm all done with folding now." LOL!
