Sweet and entertaining!

Mountain lion shifters have allied into ten groups called Dares which together form the Shadowcat Nation. A rocky alliance at best, its success is vital to their survival against other species of shifters who threaten their very existence.

Andie Reynolds is being hunted. After witnessing her mother's violent death at the hands of a pack of wolf shifters, Andie has devoted her life to protecting her community of cougar shifters from a similar fate. But now, a greater threat lies within her own dare, and she must run. If she stays, Kyle Carstairs will try to force their Mating, seeking the added power their union would provide.

Andie would rather chew off her own foot than end up with Kyle. Though, knowing him, she won't live long either way. Andie's only hope of survival is to Mate the Alpha of the Keller Dare with which she is seeking asylum. But before she can get to him, Andie must first go through A.J., one of the Alpha's Protectors. The incredibly frustrating shifter insists on challenging her story, her skills, her trust… and her heart.

Andie is running out of options and out of time. But risking the life of someone she loves - just to save herself - goes against every instinct she has. (Goodreads)

Sometimes you come across a book that causes you to breathe a sigh of satisfaction once it's over. This was that book. Though it wasn't the best romance I've ever read (does such a book exist?) I still enjoyed it and am quite interested in the next book in the series.

Sexy and thrilling!

Our love is on his terms. He contacts me only through notes − unpredictable and untraceable. When we meet, he can touch me, but I’m not allowed to touch him. When we make love, it’s only after I have been bound and blindfolded. It’s the only time I truly feel alive. Which is why I play along with it. For now.

Caden Thaine is the most sinfully beautiful man I have ever seen. But more than that, his touch sets me on fire. And dear God, do I ache for him. I don’t know where he lives or even what he does. But this doesn’t scare me. My only fear is that one day his messages will stop.

I know he’s hiding something. But that’s okay. I am hiding things too. Like my real name and... who I really am. But the deeper I fall for him, the stronger my curiosity becomes.

I could never have imagined just how much our lives are bound. And that pulling at his tangled web of secrets would cause my own dark past to come back to try and reclaim me. Will we survive? Will our love? (Goodreads)

This is my first romantic suspense thriller, and I'll say it right now, if this is the standard that I will judge all other RSTs by, then watch out! Can I just say that this book was pretty fantastic?

Someone's about to get burned. Burning Down the House by @alliegailauthor #newadult

I'm bringing sexy (Greek Myths) back. My A to Z Theme Reveal! #atozchallenge

So after skipping out on the 2013 A to Z challenge, I decided to bite the bullet and participate this year. It wasn't really hard to choose a topic. I went with what I know best...

Not-So-Well-Known Greek Myths

Back in 2012 I did Greek mythology, but I chose pretty popular myths and characters to base my challenge posts on. This year I have a line-up of some pretty obscure characters. I think most will have heard the names but not know exactly who it is or how they fit into the myths. Never fear! I got you!

And of course, I plan on making these as hilarious and irrelevant as possible. Here is one such example (links to my author site):

A is for Apollo: Ten Instruments that Most People Would Not Admit They Play

But I also plan on including some more relevant posts too. Such as,

H is for Hermes: eBook Piracy

I'll try to include quotes from my books as well (the Oracle of Delphi series and the Mythos series), which have grown like crazy since 2012. Many quotes to choose from this go-round! Excited for April 1st!

Hot, hot, hot!

First of all, I’m a huge fan of Kresley Cole. I haven’t read anything of hers I didn’t like. I adore the Immortals After Dark series, so when The Professional came out, I was like yes!

All three parts were great, but WARNING, the first two will leaving you hanging like a monkey from a tree. They were the kind of abrupt cliffhangers that piss people off. I didn’t care because I like cliffhangers and just went and purchased the next part to satisfy my boiling curiosity.

So going into this “book” (it’s being released as one book because it is just one book), I didn’t know it was BDSM, though I should have if I had paid more attention to the synopsis. It seriously puts that garbage 50 Shades of Grey to shame! If you’re going to write BDSM then this is how you do it. Cole is a queen.

I loved Sevastyan the moment I met him. I love dark, brooding and rude Alphas. Why? Because they always have another side and the right woman always brings that side out. Natalie was that woman for Sevastyan. Loved her as well, though she was a stubborn cow sometimes. Sevastyan was too though. Their stubbornness made for some entertaining “debates” between the two of them, and half the time I had to hold my sides from laughing so hard at these two knuckleheads.

The sexual chemistry was off the charts! Seriously. Cole sure knows how to write scorching hot love scenes, and dare I say these were better than any of the IAD love scenes I’ve read? I do dare say it because it’s true. Some BDSM leaves you feeling dirty after you read it because it’s not written well at all *cough, cough**50 Shades**cough, cough* but not The Professional. It was refreshing and fun to read, and I was just utterly absorbed.

Sevastyan was Natalie’s protector, but sometimes he took it way too far. He was literally an overbearing prick who would have been content to leave Natalie tied up in a dungeon whenever he had to leave her alone. I mean, he threw her over his shoulder like a caveman more than once (in public too) and though it was kind of sexy in the book, I had to think...If a man did that to me, I would punch him in the adam’s apple first chance I got. There’s protective and then there’s effin’ nuts. Sevastyan was leaning toward the latter. His over-the-top possessiveness got to be really annoying, but it didn’t curb my love for him. I knew there was more to him than just that and I couldn’t wait to find out.

Though Natalie had a pretty chilled history, Sevastyan was the complete opposite. You don’t find out until part three exactly what he’s been through but when you do, you’ll be like, damn, I wish I didn’t know. Quite traumatic. But it was perfect because it’s that hidden layer that always makes you fall in love with these asshole Alphas.

I will say that this book was a bit “tidy” for me. Natalie being an adopted Russian heiress, and going from poor to filthy rich in a matter of days. Being accepted by her birth father and his clan so easily and without hardly a complication. There was quite a plot twist later on, but I sort of saw it coming. Still when it happened, I was like crap! I wish I hadn’t been right. Otherwise, it was just a bit too good to be true. But those make the best romances don’t they?

Recommend? Hell yes! If you’re not a Kresley Cole fan, first off, shame on you. Second, this book is a great intro into the fantabulousness that is Cole. You will gobble this up then devour the IAD series. For oldhead K. Cole fans, get on this one! You will love it!

Fun, fun, fun!

An adventure that will keep you and your kids spellbound.

Toad thought it’d be easy to steal from Mr. Edward P. Owl. Unfortunately for Toad, he isn’t the best of thieves. Caught in the act, he’s in more trouble than ever before. Now to save his hide, Toad must track down five rare potion ingredients for Mr. Owl. Or else. All Melena Snead wants is her family back, but after the Miggens Street Fire, that isn’t very likely. Orphaned and miserable, forced to work in an apothecary, she’s determined to find Milo, her missing brother. No matter what.

When Melena finds Toad ransacking her apothecary, Toad gets a nasty shock: apothecaries don’t carry Mr. Owl’s ingredients. Luckily, Melena’s willing to help, for a price.

With Melena’s pet Spit-Fire dragon and Toad’s enchanted talking beer mug, they embark on a fantastical journey, traveling the country in search of the potion ingredients. But can they gather all of them in time, what with monsters, pirates, and axe-wielding thieves? And if they do, is there an even greater danger waiting for them at the end? (Goodreads)

I'm pretty sure the itty-bitty dragon on the cover is what attracted me to this book. If you don't know by now, I adore dragons and the dragon in this book was about as adorable as dragons come! Add on the great lead characters and the magical adventures, and you have a really great book!
