Hot, hot, hot!

First of all, I’m a huge fan of Kresley Cole. I haven’t read anything of hers I didn’t like. I adore the Immortals After Dark series, so when The Professional came out, I was like yes!

All three parts were great, but WARNING, the first two will leaving you hanging like a monkey from a tree. They were the kind of abrupt cliffhangers that piss people off. I didn’t care because I like cliffhangers and just went and purchased the next part to satisfy my boiling curiosity.

So going into this “book” (it’s being released as one book because it is just one book), I didn’t know it was BDSM, though I should have if I had paid more attention to the synopsis. It seriously puts that garbage 50 Shades of Grey to shame! If you’re going to write BDSM then this is how you do it. Cole is a queen.

I loved Sevastyan the moment I met him. I love dark, brooding and rude Alphas. Why? Because they always have another side and the right woman always brings that side out. Natalie was that woman for Sevastyan. Loved her as well, though she was a stubborn cow sometimes. Sevastyan was too though. Their stubbornness made for some entertaining “debates” between the two of them, and half the time I had to hold my sides from laughing so hard at these two knuckleheads.

The sexual chemistry was off the charts! Seriously. Cole sure knows how to write scorching hot love scenes, and dare I say these were better than any of the IAD love scenes I’ve read? I do dare say it because it’s true. Some BDSM leaves you feeling dirty after you read it because it’s not written well at all *cough, cough**50 Shades**cough, cough* but not The Professional. It was refreshing and fun to read, and I was just utterly absorbed.

Sevastyan was Natalie’s protector, but sometimes he took it way too far. He was literally an overbearing prick who would have been content to leave Natalie tied up in a dungeon whenever he had to leave her alone. I mean, he threw her over his shoulder like a caveman more than once (in public too) and though it was kind of sexy in the book, I had to think...If a man did that to me, I would punch him in the adam’s apple first chance I got. There’s protective and then there’s effin’ nuts. Sevastyan was leaning toward the latter. His over-the-top possessiveness got to be really annoying, but it didn’t curb my love for him. I knew there was more to him than just that and I couldn’t wait to find out.

Though Natalie had a pretty chilled history, Sevastyan was the complete opposite. You don’t find out until part three exactly what he’s been through but when you do, you’ll be like, damn, I wish I didn’t know. Quite traumatic. But it was perfect because it’s that hidden layer that always makes you fall in love with these asshole Alphas.

I will say that this book was a bit “tidy” for me. Natalie being an adopted Russian heiress, and going from poor to filthy rich in a matter of days. Being accepted by her birth father and his clan so easily and without hardly a complication. There was quite a plot twist later on, but I sort of saw it coming. Still when it happened, I was like crap! I wish I hadn’t been right. Otherwise, it was just a bit too good to be true. But those make the best romances don’t they?

Recommend? Hell yes! If you’re not a Kresley Cole fan, first off, shame on you. Second, this book is a great intro into the fantabulousness that is Cole. You will gobble this up then devour the IAD series. For oldhead K. Cole fans, get on this one! You will love it!
