Unknown Greek Myth #7: Geryon

Geryon was the beast with three bodies who lived with the herdsman Eurytion and his hound Orthos on the island of Erytheia. He was killed by Hercules when the hero was sent to capture Geryon's special herd of cattle as one of his twelve labors.

Geryon was often associated with the constellation Orion, as well as Orthos (Canis Major/Minor) and his cattle (Taurus bull).

Happy G to Z!
