M is for Metis #mythology #atozchallenge

Unknown Greek Myth #13: Metis
Metis was the Titan goddess of good counsel and sided with the Olympians in the Titan war. She became a lover of Zeus, but in attempt to stop the prophecy that she would have a son who was greater than he was, Zeus swallowed Metis. Their child was born from Zeus's head.

Her name was Athena.

Happy M to Z!
