When private investigator Lana Parker follows a dangerous biker into an underground sex club, James Hunter is the last man she expects to see. But there he is, all dark looks and chiseled charms, ready to break her heart all over again.

Danger is the name of the game for an undercover cop. And the last thing James wants is for the fiery beauty to come anywhere near the notorious biker gang he's trying to take down. Yet Lana has no intention of giving up her case, which means he'll have to keep her close to keep her safe. A risky proposition-especially when their blazing sexual chemistry reignites an unforgettable passion.

But when a dark terror emerges from the past, Lana goes on the run...and James gives up everything to save her. Backed into a corner, Lana must face her fears, including the one thing that frightens her most...her overwhelming feelings for the man whose searing glance sparks her most hidden desires, the man she should not trust, but cannot resist.

Warning: The book contains violence, explicit sex, light bondage, heavy swearing, motorcycle sexytimes, bad-ass biker naughtytimes, and an exceptionally hot hero who will get down and dirty anywhere but under the covers. (Goodreads)

DeeJay's Rating
Pure Hotness!

I just knew I had picked a good one when I signed up to review this book. And I was right. It had all the things I loved. Great characters, hot sex scenes, and even hotter bikers. Sex and motorcycles. Gets no better than that.

Loved our MCs. James aka "Ice" and Lana were just so good together. They had this great push and pull that always makes for a great read. You find out early on that Ice and Lana had a relationship prior to this book starting. Yes! Drama! You know James fucked up, right? So now Lana has trust issues piled on top of even more trust issues. Men have not been good to her. So when James ventures back into her life she is just like this can't be happening! But it is, and oh what sweet torment it was. James and Lana had similar personalities. Both stubborn and silly, and passionate and fiery. They were so hot together I was just waiting for them to go up in flames! So good job with the MCs.

No insta-forgiveness here. Oh hell no. Lana wasn't having any of that. James had to earn his way back in and boy did he! James risked his life in so many ways for Lana and you had to commend the dude. I mean, how can you not fall back in love with that? But Lana also had to learn to trust her own heart again as well. She had to trust that what she used to feel for James was still there and that it was okay to give second chances. You just gotta make that ass work for it first.

Lots of biker action. Some biker series skimp on the action so they can smother the reader with romance. But not Legal Heat. It was full of action and intrigue. I just loved it. Fights, guns, and danger. This book had all of that.

The ending was great. All the bad guys got what they deserved and the lovebirds ended up together. Though I don't necessarily need a happily ever after to like a romance book, this one was good. It's clear who the next Legal Heat is about by the end, too. At least, I think it is.

Do I recommend? Most definitely! It's sexy and exciting and just a great read. Period.
