Dishin' It Up with @AOwenBooks, author of Black Orchid #BOTour #Giveaway

Kicking off the Black Orchid tour, we have the author, Abigail Owen, swinging by to dish it up with me! Let's do it!

What does the name Svatura represent?
Svatura is a Roma (more commonly known as gypsy) term. The full term is Darane Svatura - it means supernatural or mystical stories. In the series, Svatura are people with supernatural powers. They are the embodiment of the term. And, because they live for 1000 years, they are the source of the legends Roma and other cultures formed.

Sum Adelaide up in three words.
Arg! I changed the words about 10 times. Here they are: Broken. Building. Brave.

If Black Orchid were a movie, what would be the perfect first song on the soundtrack?
"Demons" by Imagine Dragons

It sums up Nate and Adelaide so perfectly. I played it non-stop while writing the book. I ADORE Imagine Dragons! Every song of theirs is amazing. Great pick!

Who would be the perfect actor to play Nate Pierce in the movie version of Black Orchid?
Luke Guldan (although he might be a model, I think he's also an actor.) I always try to find pictures of my characters - helps me write them. I always pop them on my book page on Pinterest.
Check out Abigail's "Luke" on Pinterest!

Music or Movies: Which one keeps you the most distracted from your writing?
Movies definitely. Music actually helps me relax and focus, and I need sound on. Movies, I can get caught up in the stories. Agree all the way! I don't even own a TV because I get so distracted!

Which character is more fun to write: the hero or the villain?
The hero. I really like writing their journey. What changes their life. Unless the villain turns into the hero - that's even more fun.

Name the title of any book that best describes you as a person.
Oooh. Fun question. The Pathfinder (by James Fenimore Cooper). I feel like I am constantly following new paths and forging a way that most don't expect from me. Except my husband, who seems to support every move and moment, wonderful man that he is.

As an author, what is the best compliment you could receive from a reader?
To like one book so much they can't wait for the next!
