Dishin' It Up with @EricBuffington1, author of The Exile #YA #Fantasy

I’d like to welcome author Eric Buffington to DJ’s Book Corner. Thank you for taking the time to come dish it up with me!

Tell us what you want us to know about Stones of Power series. In particular, The Exile.
This trilogy is a fun clean adventure. If you like action, suspense and great characters this is the book series for you.

Sum Kaz, Farin, Garin and Bendar, the book MCs, up in three words.
Kaz: Impulsive funny archer

Farin: Snarky tough loyal

Garin: Farmer homebody friend

Bendar: Intelligent snobby misunderstood

If The Exile were a movie, what would be the perfect first song on the soundtrack?
I'm drawing a complete blank. I guess it's a good thing I'm an author and not a musician. I really do like the music for Dragonheart. The theme but it's an instrumental piece so I'm not sure that it has a name.

Is this the one? Hope so...I likey.

What do you like best about writing YA fantasy?
I can make all the crazy things that are going on in my head available for everyone else.

Music or Movies: Which one keeps you the most distracted from your writing?
Definitely movies over music. But lately my son got me hooked on Minecraft, so video games probably take the real place of distraction right now. Such evil things!

Name the title of any book that best describes you as a person.
Hmmm. This is a great question. I don't want to sound full of myself by saying something like 'Beautiful Mind' or 'Oz The Great and Powerful' so I guess I'll just have to go with Superman.

As an author, what is the best compliment you could receive from a reader?
If a reader feels satisfied by the book, but at the same time is desperate for the next book, that is the biggest compliment. It's also neat to hear people talk about the characters I've created as if they are real people. That makes me feel like I did a pretty good job making the story hit home with readers.

Totally Random Question
If you were an evil sorcerer, what would be your evil sorcerer "motto"?
'I wonder what this will do." Love it!

Thanks so much, Eric!
