I had to drop out of college to raise my son after his dad, bad boy MMA fighter Ryder King, and I broke up. Ryder is so haunted by demons he won’t let me into his heart. Fame, fortune, and fighting didn’t bring him any peace, and I knew, for the sake of our child, I had to leave him.

That’s when I started seeing Ryder’s best friend, Xavier Malone, a former fighter who built a billion dollar empire. Xavier is powerful and handsome, but also caring and wonderful with my son. We were friends at first and now I’m falling for him—but I’m scared to commit.

Then I receive an invitation to the island of Eden, a luxurious resort where I can live my every sensual fantasy. I’m certain Xavier sent it. But after I leave my son with my mom and fly to Eden, I discover I’m in the middle of a grudge match between Xavier and Ryder. They are going to fight for me: inside the ring in a charity match, and outside it—where they both plan to seduce the pants off me. But I have a surprise for them too.

This book had a strong start and pulled me in from the beginning. The writing was fantastic and I was immediately intrigued by all the characters–Tessa, Ryder and Xavier. This intrigue never waned but there were a couple of things that turned me off from a book that was otherwise pretty damn good.

The love triangle. I hate love triangles, and this one was especially grating on my nerves since I knew who the MC would choose pretty early on. So it was torture to watch the entire thing play out since I was totally into the dude who I knew was going to lose.

The "tidy" secret. Every book has a character with a deep dark secret to be revealed. I love to be strung along like that, but this time the secret just felt a little too "perfect" for this book. The resolution was kind of, like I said, tidy. I felt sort of let down when I should have been relieved and satisfied that it was finally out in the open.

There was a lot of good in this book, despite what it may seem like. The love scenes were H.O.T. and very well written. I love how the author didn't try to spare virgin eyes to the nature of what was really happening. I hate when authors do that. Why even write it at all if you're going to keep it clean? I don't get it. But that was a strong aspect of this book, and since this is erotica, I would say, it's one of the most important elements.

The actual emotional exchanges between the characters was great too. You could easily feel their pain and happiness as they talked about past events and things to come. Tessa really warred it out with herself over these two men, I will say that. Though I knew who it would be, I can say that Tessa really gave it some thought and all the reasons she chose who she did were valid. I don't blame her in the least for choosing who she did.

All in all, good read. If you're cool with love triangles, then this will be a breezy read for you. I still recommend it, despite the few issues I had. Would I read another book by this author? Yup. Sure would!
