How the legend was born. Show N' Read Saturday #31: DRACULA UNTOLD #review

I have to say upfront that I was super excited to see this movie, but it didn't live up to the hype. It was visually awesome as expected, and there were a couple of battle scenes that were just crazy bad ass, but overall, it was just okay.

I expected the plot to be a lot more detailed and thought out. But it was pretty simple and as the previews stated, Vlad allowed himself to be turned to save his family and kingdom. That's a good start but that's also where it ended. He was turned and then used the power to defeat the Turks. THAT'S IT. SERIOUSLY, THAT'S IT.

They could have done so much more with this movie even though it was only 90 minutes long. I expected to be WOW'd and shocked by what I saw, but I should have known better. It really was just okay. It's worth a watch if you really have nothing better to do, but if you want to wait for the DVD, I don't think you'll hate yourself.

I've mentioned this in another SNR, but that just means I'm serious. I own it, now I seriously must read it!

(In the process of moving over my other SNR posts from another site. But they will be up soon!)

  1. Wow I really wanted to see this movie because the trailer was amazing. Was anyone misled by the trailer? Now I'm not so sure anymore. But great review! I feel most of the movies that have come out this year aren't so good. There used to be so many good productions! Well the only exception is The Maze Runner!! It's a must-see!

    1. You're not misled by the trailer, I don't think. I was just expecting more plot wise, like some twists and turns that I didn't see coming. But I didn't get that. It was all so predictable. I think I'll go see Maze Runner next week since I loved that book!
