What makes the characters in Rock Canyon different from every other Romance series out there?
My characters in Rock Canyon are different, in my opinion, because I’m not afraid to make them real. So real that my readers may not like them, or their decisions. But, their mistakes make them more human and less a literary perfection. I like to read about realistic characters that have amazing things happen to them, not perfect, flawless characters who have a cookie cutter romance. That isn’t real life. Life is messy and awful and sometimes we have to deal with our screw-ups, but in my books, I still think that the flawed, imperfect people of Rock Canyon deserve a happily ever after.
Which is your favorite Rock Canyon book and what makes is so special to you?
My favorite Rock Canyon book and the one that is near and dear to my heart are two separate books. My favorite, so far, is Return of the Bad Girl. The characters were so much fun to write and I pushed myself out of my comfort zone big time. The one that I hold near and dear to my heart is Good Girls Don’t Date Rock Stars because Travis and Gemma’s love story was so painful to write and read about. It’s one of those stories where you just want to scream at the characters, and yet, you hurt for them because they make so many mistakes because they are afraid that anything good can happen to them.
If you were wearing a t-shirt with your personal motto on it, what would it say?
Rock Canyon; Where Gossip Runs Rampant and Happily Ever Afters are Inevitable!
When writer's block hits, what's the first thing you do?
When I have writer’s block, I immediately start searching for food, and then the remote…if it persists after an episode or two, then I take my lap top to the nearest coffee house and try to write there. Sometime, just getting out of my comfort zone can help.
How do you handle negative reviews?
Do negative reviews hurt? Sure, I won’t lie. Do I still appreciate them? Absolutely. If someone takes the time to read your book and leave their thoughts, I appreciate and respect that. Not everyone is going to like my books or even all my books, and that is okay. That is what makes the reading world go round!
What's the best compliment you've ever received from a reader?
Several readers have told me I made them cry or hate a character, and that is the biggest compliment. When you can hit a reader so hard that they are overcome with feelings, to me, that is the best compliment in the whole world!

Callie Jacobsen isn't about to open her heart to just anyone. Not so very long ago, trusting someone changed her life forever—and not in a fun way. Now she's better off focusing on her career, her friends, and her dog. So when former Marine Everett Silverton takes an interest in her, Callie's more than a little wary. No matter how charming he is, men are a bad idea. In fact, she's got the scars to prove it.
But Everett isn't convinced Callie should shut everyone out—especially not him. He may be a hero to the people of Rock Canyon, but he's got his own demons, and he bets they're not that different from Callie's. Still, he knows it's going to take more than chemistry to get her to let her guard down. Everett will do whatever it takes to show her she's safe with him. All she has to do is take a chance, take a step … and take his hand.
